Digital Masses for the Masses

Help me give my students eight electronic or digital scales and some great treats and cookies.

My Project

I have taught for a long time and am very frugal. Combine those two traits and sometimes I pull out antiquated equipment for my students. Although trip beam balances are cool, they are so outdated. My Earth Science students deserve better.

With this project, I can provide 8 digital scales that will measure up to 9 pounds and still keep the balances true.

Even though the scale takes 2 batteries, the cost of the machine is so attractive for our classroom. We will be able to measure our salt, our sugar, and calculate the density of rocks in fashion!

Additionally, my students always enjoy a small snack or some food motivation. They love the individually wrapped packages of cookies or candies to stave off their hunger until lunch or whenever they need a pick-me-up.
