Digital Literacy in the Classroom

My students need 6 Chromebooks in order to become exposed to the digital educational world that is outside of our classroom.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a low income area where many students receive free lunch and breakfast daily. My students strive to do their best everyday and I'm just trying to meet their individual needs to become productive technology enriched students.

Digital learning is the present and the future in the world today.

I would like my students to have a fair chance at being technology enriched students that can compete on a digital platform. Being able to teach my students the basic functions of technology will open their learning windows on a digital scale.

My Project

My goal is to improve student engagement, empowerment, and critical thinking skills. It is critical to provide students with digital tools or access to digital media to achieve their academic goals.

Digital literacy impacts students in the modern classroom.

So I would like to address this by identifying digital resources as critical tools for literacy, Math, and Writing instruction for today’s student.

My students will be able to complete class assignments online through Google classroom, weather they are in school or home sick. Chromebooks will assist in bringing digital literacy skills students need to acquire in order to successfully navigate in a digital world.
