The arrival of our new headphones, board games, and essential stationery has completely transformed our \"Third Grade Centers\" time. My students were beyond excited to unbox the new board games, which have turned into a highlight of our week. They aren't just playing; they are practicing cooperation, turn-taking, and strategic thinking in a way that feels like pure fun.\r\n\r\nThe technology piece has been a game-changer as well. The new headphones allow students to engage with personalized learning programs without distractions, helping them focus on literacy and math skills tailored to their specific levels. One student in particular, who often struggles with sensory overload, has found great comfort in using the headphones to stay \"in the zone\" during independent work time.\r\n\r\nOur daily workflow has also improved significantly thanks to the anchor chart paper, lined paper, and whiteboard markers. We use the anchor charts to \"map out\" our lessons together, and the students love using the fresh markers to solve problems on their individual whiteboards. My first graders are using the markers, dry erase boards, clipboards, and number lines every single day across all subject areas. One particularly special moment happened during our recent math lesson on addition within 20. Each student used their own dry erase board and number line to solve problems independently. I watched as students who had previously been hesitant began confidently drawing hops on their number lines and writing equations with their markers. The ability to quickly try, erase, and try again gave them the freedom to take risks without fear of making mistakes.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards, in particular, have been a favorite because they allow us to move around the room and even work outside the classroom. The fact they are the first class to use these materials has created buy-in for them to want to come to small group and do their best to learn. \r\n\r\nSome of their favorite items are the Hand 2 Mind phonics learning trays and using the magnetic letters to build words. This has been incredibly helpful with helping my students learn and \"see\" digraphs and phonograms. Additionally, the word ending snap cubes have transformed their understanding of morphology. The materials gave them hands-on examples of limitless possibilies, regardless of ability, disability, gender, color, or any other difference that may be perceived. We've integrated the anchor chart paper into our daily instructions; for instance, students recently used it to co-create a detailed 'Patterns' visual guide that hangs prominently in the classroom to scaffold their learning. In our geometry unit, students utilized the graph paper and spiral notebooks to map out and solve complex coordinate plane problems. Having a reliable pencil sharpener has surprisingly been a huge benefit—it keeps our writing tools sharp and eliminates standard disruptions, allowing students to maintain focus during independent work time.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, the students were absolutely thrilled, treating the delivery like a holiday morning! They were especially excited to receive fresh folders to keep their growing portfolio of work organized and vibrant colored paper for their upcoming presentations. Looking ahead, our next steps involve a cross-curricular project that bridges math and science. Your generosity has provided the precise foundation they need to succeed and stay organized as they dive deeper into this new research challenge.","fullyFundedDate":1768534651905,"projectUrl":"project/pencils-paper-and-possibility-for-4th/10018636/","projectTitle":"Pencils, Paper, and Possibility for 4th Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8131460_orig.jpg?crop=1088,1088,x1784,y1441&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699573668245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8131460"},{"teacherId":10233173,"projectId":9665440,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity to support my NR_PK classroom. They had fun with the bean bags and used them for gross motor activities, counted the dots, and aligned the number on the bean bag to the hop-scotch numbers. The chair came in handy for the children that required an extra incentive to attend to the whole group instruction. The mochi's were added to the teacher treasure box for giveaways for when the children were following the rules (responsible, respectful, safety). \r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are to continue to work on expanding on their numbers, letter identification, writing, phonemic sounds, and 2D/3D shapes (number of sides) through the wooden puzzles.","fullyFundedDate":1762267706711,"projectUrl":"project/nevada-ready-pre-k-age-4/9665440/","projectTitle":"Nevada Ready Pre-K (Age 4)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carr","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10233173"},{"teacherId":9323436,"projectId":9267585,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping my class with their social-emotional learning.
