This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a diverse place with students from many different cultural backgrounds. Students were born in over 75 different countries, and many of them speak multiple languages. Even with all those differences, they are unified as a student body.

As a school, we pride ourselves on having both local town pride and a global mindset, reflecting the diversity of our community.

They work tirelessly to better themselves and their families through their education. All of my students deserve opportunities to learn and experiment with the arts.

My Project

Many of my advanced students are very interested in working with digital drawing and illustration for independent study work. However, right now only the students that can afford to buy their own tablets are currently able to engage in this exciting medium.

All of my advanced art students deserve to experience digital drawing with a proper tablet, preparing them for potential career paths in the creative economy.

Instead of using their cell phone to make basic illustrations, drawing tablets would allow them to fine-tune craftsmanship, prepare them for art careers, and give them the freedom to explore new advanced techniques. This would create a much more equitable environment in my classes and provide practical opportunities for growth to all my students.
