Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love giving my students the opportunity to explore and express themselves through photography. Creating a yearbook for the school is a fun project that students work on for the majority of the school year. They’re responsible for photographing all the schools, major events, whether they are ASB clubs or sports. It’s much easier when the students don’t have to try to figure out all of the complicated settings on the more elaborate digital cameras. Having simpler point-and-shoot cameras with some enhanced photography features allow students to be free and creative while they are out documenting our school year.

Students love going out to take pictures of friends doing various activities on campus.

Students also enjoy going off campus to photograph events that happened outside of the school day simpler cameras that are easy to transport make this process smoother.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
