This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are newcomers from across the globe—brave, curious, and full of resilience. Many have had interrupted education or are adjusting to life in a new country, but every day they show up eager to learn, connect, and grow. Our school garden has become more than just a place to grow plants—it's where students practice language, build friendships, and explore science hands-on.

This project will provide a shed to store essential gardening tools and supplies in one safe place, making it easier for our students to access what they need during class and after-school programs.

Gardening tools will allow each student to fully participate—whether they’re planting seeds, turning soil, or harvesting crops. With these resources, our multilingual learners can engage in meaningful, real-world learning that connects science, sustainability, and language development.

When students plant a seed and watch it grow, they’re not just learning biology—they're seeing the power of their own potential.
