My Students

Our second graders are bright, eager, and inquisitive learners! We are excited to learn, curious about the world around us, and ready to roll up our sleeves and dig into becoming expert paleontologists!

The students at our school are a diverse group of academic learners including a large population of ELL students.

We are a Title I Expeditionary Learning school in an urban neighborhood, and our community is challenged economically. Our students are culturally diverse and bring the gift of that diversity with them into the classroom. Our classrooms are warm, nurturing, and welcoming where all students feel included and accepted. When you enter our learning space, you will feel the joy that embodies the students and classroom around you.

My Project

These National Geographic Mega Fossil Dig Kits will give my students a hands-on opportunity to dig up real dinosaur fossils. As we begin our Dinosaur Expedition, these kits will supplement and lead to even more exciting discoveries as second graders excavate incredible, real fossils! The kit even includes all of the tools - a chisel, brush, and magnifying glass.

Let's inspire young scientists!

With your help, I will be able to spilt my students into small groups to make these incredible discoveries together. Each kit includes archeological tools and a digging site filled with 15 fossil treasures just waiting to be unearthed! We are also asking for safety goggles to keep us safe during this activity.
