My Project

Sometimes it is the smaller number of students who have the biggest and most specific needs. Students with special needs such as those with ADHD or anxiety, Autism, other learning disabilities need a little extra to be successful in the classroom.

To support students with special needs to be able to focus and remain on task, I like to keep some sensory materials on hand.

A simple tool, such as the roller, roller chains, or mesh toy, to fidget with can help students be more on task and less disruptive in the classroom. These tools will impact them as well as the rest of the students in the classroom.

Another sensory tool that is highly effective in my classroom is play dough. I make my own because it is more cost effective and less messy in the classroom. The small containers will preserve the dough long and withstand reuse better than ziplock bags.

I will be able to support student in my own classroom with these materials. However, they attend classes with up to 7 different teachers. I hope to be able to have enough resources to allow what they to take what they need with them to other classes as well.

Mrs. Bundschuh will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 5.
