Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning centers are areas within the classroom where students learn about specific subjects by engaging in modified activities. Learning centers offer interactive learning strategies where students rotate in groups to different activities that reinforce and extend classroom learning.

My goal is to create learning centers that are modified to different levels, skills, interests and talents to help students meet their academic goals.

For this, I need clipboards so that students can do their work from anywhere in the classroom. I also need a smaller magnetic white board that I can move around to teach from anywhere in the class. This will help me work with smaller groups on the carpet or the tables.

I have also selected a few items to make the learning centers inviting and welcoming as well as informative with a large 120 chart and educational posters. Many students often feel shy or embarrassed when participating in special support centers because they do not understand the academic information so I have chosen to add an inviting welcome sign.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
