Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade students are energetic, hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. They enjoy working in small reading and writing centers where skills are taught through fun interactive games. They excel socially and academically as they interact with others of different backgrounds and ability levels. I love that they are excited about learning and support each other in the classroom.
I am one of the many teachers trying to meet the diverse needs of every student in my classroom- from those who speak limited English, those with special needs, those way behind and those far advanced.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home and are thrilled to use any form of technology in the classroom. I would love to inspire technology integration in my first grade classroom.
My Project
My students need a laptop.Trying to meet the individual student needs of every student in the classroom can be overwhelming. To help make instruction manageable; I have created fun interactive centers where my first grade students are provided with differentiated instruction. With your assistance I would like to create an interactive computer workstation where students can use chrome books for the following: to close their academic gap, challenge their knowledge and or hold their attention.
With the use of technology in the classroom, I can develop students' higher order thinking skills, promote creativity and facilitate academic learning.
Students can explore technology in a less threatening environment and make considerable academic gains.
Differentiated instruction and the use of technology in the classroom is the key to successful instruction.
