My Students

I teach second grade to a group of 26 students at a Title I school in a rural community. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.

My students are full of energy and love coming to school!

My goal is to keep this excitement going throughout the day! Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.

My Project

It’s been said that if students can’t hear the lesson, they can’t as readily learn. With a loudspeaker in our classroom, students will have no trouble hearing recordings of stories and information from the internet. For more quiet times during the day (Writer’s Workshop, Journal Writing), I feel that music will motivate students, they will write as their heads bob up and down to their favorite songs. I also think that they will appreciate how the lyrics fill the silence while they are expected to work quietly.

By ensuring the teacher’s voice sounds clear no matter where students sit, microphones can overcome the hurdles of unamplified classrooms.

Also, with a microphone, students will be able to present a project to the class that they have created.
