My students need Dictionary's to work on Dictionary skills in the classroom. It is extremely important for students to learn how to utilize a dictionary.
My students are Special Education 6th through 8th graders. We are working on Dictionary skills and it is very difficult to do this when the dictionary's that I have in my classroom are not all the same and are missing pages. Although technology is taking over in our society, it is still extremely important for students to actually know how to utilize a dictionary. We use Dictionary's in my classroom all throughout the year because we work on Vocabulary in my class all throughout the year.
My Project
It is very important for students of all ages to learn how to use a dictionary. Even though technology is very important in today's society, it is vital that children and young adults still know how to utilize a dictionary. Most students have a phone and it is easy to look up the definition of a word, but they will not understand all the of the other aspects to using a dictionary. Guide words do not pop up on your phone when you look up words on your phone. As I stated, most students have phones but not all students have phones or access to the internet or a computer at home.
