My Project

The goal of the DHS Theater Program is to train students in all areas of theater, both on-stage and off-stage. We would like to educate our student actors and technical crew using the latest technology and equipment in order to foster growth in self-confidence, increase school and community involvement, and expand student knowledge of future career opportunities in the creative arts.

While our performers shine on their own, updates to our lighting systems will illuminate their talents.

Our school auditorium serves as our classroom, however, due to the age of our equipment, many repairs and updates are sorely needed. As a result, our overall production quality and our on-stage performers themselves are quite literally not “in the spotlight.” Backing this project helps the DHS Drama Club take steps toward our ultimate goal of improving our stage lighting, sound equipment, curtains, and projected digital backdrops. These improvements will directly impact the success of DHS Theater productions, as well as provide ongoing technical theater educational opportunities for students.

Over the past three years, the amazing students in the DHS Drama Club have put on musical theater productions for various schools throughout our school system free of charge to share the importance of the arts with our entire community. It is our hope that with your help, we can continue increasing the opportunities provided for students to learn, grow, and ultimately share their talents with our entire community through high-quality performances.
