My Students

I have taught at many different grade levels and at many different schools. I have taught all kinds of students: gifted students, on-level students, and well below grade level students, all with various needs. I would not have been able to effectively reach these students without my continued professional development. As times change, students change. Educators, also, need to change. They need to be provided with opportunities to grow their practice to meet the needs of all students.

High-quality professional development in the areas of reading and writing will help educators foster lifelong readers and writers who can make a positive impact on the world.

I want to be able to provide the teachers at my school with the opportunity to learn ways to refine their implementation of our curriculum from an expert.

My Project

The online Professional Development opportunity, Finding the Right Goals for Readers and Writers, will guide teachers to think about new ways to assess and determine what students need. In addition, teachers will reflect upon the assessments they currently use to determine goal(s) for students and consider new options.

By participating in this Professional Development experience, teachers will be able to help students strive to reach their fullest potential in reading and writing.

By creating and communicating clear goals for improving students' reading and writing, students can work to improve their reading and writing skills and increase achievement. I think that teachers will be inspired to take their teaching to new levels after receiving this Professional Development learning opportunity.
