Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

3D printing is vastly reshaping the future of our society. It is rapidly growing in both industry and education, putting the technology in the hands of even our youngest learners. With such a vast and diverse realm of possibilities, 3D printing technology is a sure way to engage the learners of today while preparing them for careers for tomorrow.

This 3D printing technology will be used to engage our students in both STEM and Robotics.

They will use the filament in robotics to print parts for a robotic hand that they are designing. This will increase empathy in our students and support SEL in the classroom. In STEM, they will use the filament to make a marble run with servos, as well as an amusement park model with working rides. We recently had a huge donation of PETG. We would like to expand our 3D printing capacity with this 3D printer in order to maximize our use of the filament. Your donation goes directly into inspiring the minds of our learners as the prototype as engineers! Students will also participate in the Make Able challenge. Here, they will develop empathy for others while they design and 3D print a prototype to serve a member of the community in a way that helps with accessibility. This is a great way for students to develop empathy for others while also using critical thinking, 3D printing, and the engineering design process.
