Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Letter recognition and learning how to blend sounds is an essential skill for kindergarten students to capture by the end of the school year. My kindergarten dual-language students work hard every day practicing their letter sounds and preparing themselves to become readers. With these manipulatives, my students will be given different ways to practice these skills. Some of my students are hands-on learners while others are visual learners. These manipulatives will allow access to all types of learners and provide more excitement for my students. One of our centers involves the use of technology, where students use their Chromebooks and work on literacy programs for extra support.

We are in need of headphones to cancel out the noise of the other computers and help students better focus.

Because many of our centers are made by myself and printed, the printer ink will help supply further literacy centers to be created and used. Our classroom currently lacks sufficient resources for our literacy centers, so this would be a big help!
