My students need quality music stands for our classroom for our three instrumental performing ensembles.

My Students

Our school is a growing community of excited hands-on learners and teachers! With a student body of nearly 1000, the arts department is large and growing. In fall of 2015 we were able to secure a full-time music teacher and the next year add another! For this coming fall, we will be adding yet another performing arts teacher and we could not be more excited.

Our students are as unique and diverse as any learning community and come to us from many neighborhoods of Boston.

We have a large population of students who are Spanish speaking and a robust program for students with Autism. All of our students come together to collaborate and learn as a team under our motto of caring. The students at our school truly embody this love and caring for one another and their school.

My Project

In 2016, we hit the ground running with our new band program for middle school and upper elementary. The students helped to grow their ensembles and took great pride in their accomplishments throughout the year.

In 2017, we have been able to expand our two ensembles to three performing ensembles reaching grades 4-8 and serving all types of learners.

Our students work very hard and seek out new performing opportunities.

While we are fortunate enough to have many music stands, they are now rusty or broken. After our winter performance, the students came to me and asked how we could have nicer music stands. They would really like to see this program continue to grow and improve! We would be able to use these music stands not only for performances, but every rehearsal we have as well. We hold four full band rehearsals every week during which our students would make use of the stands. They would also travel with us to the auditorium, the hallways, and hopefully beyond for performances and shares.
