I teach kindergarten in a public school in Harnett County. About 80% of my students are on free or reduced lunch. The children that I teach do not have much exposure to art besides what is provided in the classroom. A lot of my children do not have access to the internet, magazines in their homes, or books of their own. My children are like sponges and absorb every bit of information shared with them. They love looking at books in our classroom. Every book that we read we discuss what type of pictures the illustrator has painted or drawn. In saying my students are exposed to art in my room but I do not have the necessary supplies in my classroom to allow my children to creatively express themselves in their art. In saying that I am desperately seeking an art easel for my 23 students. They love to paint and be creative with the supplies that we have in class but I do not have an easel that I can leave up in the room for them to visit during center time. They are limited to painting with watercolors at their desk. As a child I remember the joy I got from painting a picture on the easel, taking it home and showing it to my parents. I also remember them fussing over how úÉeautiful?it was and displaying it on the refrigerator. My students are missing out on so many wonderful opportunities. I would like to think that with your help we could be planting the seed for a future Monet, Van Gogh or even a Botticelli.
The easel that I would like to have is $78.49. That price includes shipping and handling. It has 3 height adjustments, a 24in x 24in glossy white dry erase board on one side and 24?x 24?chalkboard on the other side. The easel includes 2 paint trays, 4 easel clips for painting on either side. It also comes with the following accessories: reusable, plastic collapsible crate; seven 8 oz. bottles of washable paint in red, yellow, blue, green, purple, black and white; seven plastic paint cups with non-spill lids; six paint brushes; three foam brushes and two foam rollers.
If possible, I would like to have some/all of the art supplies listed below to go with the easel.
