Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are all females who are aspiring college students. They come from all over the city of Baltimore, some spending almost two hours using public transportation to get to and from school. They are hard workers who deserve to be afforded the best when it comes to their education. Most of my students end up attending a four-year college, having gained confidence and skills that are unique to a school that only educates one gender. Help their minds flourish!

My Project

It is a well known fact that students learn more when they collaborate with their peers. Additionally, when they are comfortable and feel like they are at home, the are more likely to be excited about what they are learning.

With this seating, my students will feel like they are sitting in their own kitchen with their families having discussions about politics and issues in psychology.

They will not be spit apart and confined by the spaces of individual desks.

These tables and chairs, in conjunction with the flexible seating that already exists in my classroom insure a nurturing and relaxing educational environment.
