Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are great mathematicians, scientists, writers, explorers, artists, etc. They are in a Spanish and English Dual Language Program and for the most part, all students have been in this program since they were in preschool. Being in such a program poses challenges to them. My students are well aware that being fluent and bi-literate in this country will open doors to better opportunities in their careers and in their futures. I also want to provide as many opportunities to work with STEM and hands-on activities.

With these Gear-Bots, they will be challenged in designing and putting together gears, claws, heads, and much more, to a motorized base, and then control it with remote control without it falling apart.

Adventurous challenges need to be posed for students who are ready to embark on new journeys. It will be quite a task to get everyone on board and focused on such an exciting activity, but it will definitely be fun and engaging.
