Designing and Programming Games to Learn About Science Concepts

Help me give my students an Apple iPad, design tools, and materials to create Science learning games.

My Project

When students teach other students using educational science games they have created, it will reinforce learning of Science concepts for all. Students already have several micro:bit computers, and they need additional tools and accessories to create enriching learning games. They will complete guided lessons to learn about game design and game development to create their own video games about science concepts. Science content will focus on human impacts on the environment, weather, climate and sustainability.

Students, working in collaborative groups, will design unique games on science topics.

The iPad will be used by students during the game design process and to complete the guided lessons on joystick controls, health bars, and 3D objects using a highly recommended app for game development. Office supplies are needed for the design and planning process. The micro:bit and accessories will enable students to participate in 40 different gamified learning projects.
