This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first-grade dual language classroom is filled with eager learners who are always excited to engage in hands-on activities. I am seeking LEGO sets that will allow my students to explore and learn about the iconic buildings and structures of New York City while developing their construction and writing skills.

By incorporating LEGO sets into our curriculum, my students will have the opportunity to replicate famous New York City buildings such as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Through this project, my students will not only enhance their fine motor skills and spatial reasoning but also gain a deeper understanding of the architectural marvels that define our city.

Following the construction of these landmarks, my first graders will engage in writing activities where they will describe their structures. This will provide them with valuable writing practice while also fostering their appreciation for the rich history and culture of New York City.
