My students need a Silhuette Cameo to use in Fashion and Interior Design classes. This will allow them to use their creativity and principles and elements of design to create their projects.

My Students

My students in Fashion and Interior Design class LOVE the hands on projects we do in class.

They learn how to upcycle, reuse and redesign clothing as well as design interiors while applying the principle and elements of design.

We struggle sometimes to make what we have work for the students, because just don't have the budget. My students are problem solvers and we work with what we have! They have the most creative ideas and such an excitement and drive to create what they dream.

I don't want them to feel limited, but the technology that we have in the classroom especially in regards to design isn't available to them. The more opportunities they can have to actually use their creativity and develop a sense of ownership and self esteem, along with their design knowledge, the better they will be prepared to confidently explore careers and education post graduation!

My Project

My students would have so many more creative endeavors that they could pursue with this Silhuette Cameo. The Fashion Design students will be given the chance to design their own t-shirts with the vinyl adhesives. My Interior Design Students can explore the principles and elements of design building blocks for their projects with this tool. Even my Early Childhood Development students will be able to use this when they run a Preschool through the high school. The technology aspect of this piece is a great educational tool for my future designers as well! All in all, my students would benefit from this resource in their classroom. It not only allows them freedom to create their own designs, but gives them ownership as well as problem solving and independence.
