My Students
I teach high school computer science in a small, rural school district. My students are excited about computer science, programming, and engineering. They are curious and always looking for new opportunities! I strive to create student-centered classrooms where students can explore their interests and find their passion.
Because computer science is often considered an elective, we don't always have the kind of funding that can help us purchase needed tools.
My students and I are so thankful for any help!
My Project
Students would use a 3D printer to build amazing creations that they designed themselves, like robots, tools, and other inventions. Currently, we have applications to create the designs, however, without a 3D printer, we have no way to make our creations come to life!
All student are more actively engaged in their learning when they're creating!
In the computer science classroom, the design process helps students develop computational thinking skills, which will benefit them in whatever field they choose to enter.
Your generous donation will help improve our classroom and my students'learning opportunities by providing them with the necessary tool to help them develop design, engineering and computational thinking skills. Students will, not only be developing these important skills, but they will also be more actively engaged and excited about learning!
