My Students

My students come from a low-income, high-poverty school district. They are faced daily with challenges both inside and outside the classroom. However, they always arrive at school eager to learn and with a smile on their face. I'm always looking to find new ways to make learning fun, creative, and meaningful for them.

For most of my students, this is their first experience with school.

Most of them did not attend preschool and have no concept of sitting in a classroom and learning all day. I feel as though, it is my job to develop a love of learning that will hopefully last a lifetime.

My Project

I am asking for different dental health dramatic playsets which include dental items for my kindergarten students to use when learning about brushing their teeth.

Brushing your teeth properly and getting excited about it is very important.

You need to take care of your teeth to ensure you have them for as long as possible. Sometimes younger students do not want to brush their teeth or put up a fight when having to do it. I want my students to learn that it can be fun brushing their teeth and the importance of keeping them clean. My hope is that making it a part of our dramatic play area will make it more intriguing and fun instead of scary to go to the dentist.
