Help me give my students a "sweet" hands-on approach to science. After learning all about their brains and NEURONS, this is the best way to celebrate their learning - creating edible neurons!!

My Project
When students have an understanding of the way their brain works, they are more likely to have a growth mindset and not give up when things get hard. I teach 2nd-grade students at two schools and introduce students to the parts of their brains that control emotions, decision making and memory. We end our brain unit by learning all about neurons. Students begin by creating and labeling diagrams about neurons. They then move into creating 3-D models. The final structure they make to represent a neuron is an edible one, and they never forget it. I still have students talking about it years later. Join us in helping supply the materials needed for this project for four 2nd-grade classes. Thank you so much!!
