Last year alone, my students had several presentations. We had Brain Day, where students spoke about famous people that exhibited Growth Mindset. We celebrated the conclusion of our unit on Chris Van Allsburg by having students read the stories they wrote. Students wrote skits and slide shows to teach our audience about what they learned about Ancient Egypt. They created costumes, back drops, and more. It was exciting, and our audience loved it! My students also created news broadcasts about natural disasters at the conclusion of that unit. Students wrote the scripts, used scientific vocabulary, incorporated maps into their presentations, and had to make it realistic, by creating rain, snow, floods, earthquakes, and more. My students LOVE this chance to show the depth of their knowledge, and the families and students are always so excited to be included.
