Decreasing Stress: Less Germs and a Focused Environment

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative and caring individuals. They want to succeed and work hard.

Even with the hard work my students do, I have seen how many of them need the best environment possible to ensure that they can have success due to holes that COVID has caused in their learning.

My Project

I have requested a classroom set of headphones and flexible seating using lap trays. In the classroom we currently have 8 headphones that the students share between each other. With COVID I have become nervous having the students share the headphones.

The lack of a class set of headphones makes it very difficult when all of the students are on the computer at the same time because of the level of noise.

With COVID, I have noticed that students have struggled more with focus. Many of my students have asked to move to help them focus, but with large desks it is difficult for them to move them to find a better spot. With the lap trays, my students would be able to sit in different areas in the classroom to help them focus.
