My Students

Elementary students are fun, curious, and full of energy. I love providing students with the best learning experiences. A child's development is influenced by relationships, his or her environment, and the experiences they have had there. As my school's Title I Resource Teacher, my continuous goal is to provide a positive, respectful relationship, as well as a safe, warm, nurturing, and homelike environment with experiences that are self-directed and self-motivated to create a natural intrinsic love for learning.

Young children are active, hands-on learners who enjoy having a choice in what and how they learn!

Early childhood is when children transform into true readers. Their vocabulary rapidly increases, and they prefer open-ended experiences. They are developing more sophisticated math strategies and enjoy scientific discoveries.

Watching them grow and learn in their own way and on their own path is so rewarding. My students utilize many hands-on materials and manipulatives, and they are taught to love learning. They are thrilled at what they can accomplish and what they are capable of when they set a goal and work hard!

My Project

I am continuing to build an amazing collection of quality picture books for my elementary theme boxes. Kindergarten, first and second grade teachers use my theme boxes each week. They are so loved by the students. I provide bins of theme books with cross curricular learning materials so that only copies need ran to implement activities for the week. Since so may teachers are now using them, I don't have enough to go around. Teaching off of books can be very powerful especially when the students really enjoy the read aloud. I love providing books of interest for children. The students love them so much they end up reading them again and taking quizzes on them. This collection of books will be perfect for December!
