Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are a Title One school with 100% free and reduced lunch. Many of these students will be the first in their families to go beyond high school. We want to teach fourth and fifth grade students debate skills.

Because of our students' socioeconomic status, they cannot afford the technology needed to keep up with their peers. This puts our students at an unfair disadvantage to compete in a global society.

In order to participate in a debate competition, several laptops are needed so that each team has their own to use during the debate. This laptop will afford our students the ability to increase their technology skills, research skills, and organizational skills.

By giving us your help, you will be allowing our students to be on an even playing field with their more fortunate peers.
