My Students

Have you ever tried to read a book while sitting in a narrow student desk or on a hard, cold floor? This is what my students do every time we "read around the room."

My avid readers attend a small, rural school where reading is encouraged.

After their assignments are finished, they can be found reading either in the hallway, on the floor in my room, at a table in the library or even sitting at their desks. They love to read, and the seldom complain about their surrounds. Still, having a comfortable place to read would be great.

My Project

The red, blue and purple bean bag chairs are just the right size for junior high and high school students to get settled in and read. With the chairs I have requested, and the many posters and other decorations, I can create a truly inviting place for students to drop everything and read. Throw in a dictionary and a thesaurus and students have everything they need.

When you support this project, you will be giving my students a retreat, a distraction free place of comfort and solitude so they can read.

You will be giving them a seat from which they can explore the world. By reading, they increase their likelihood of success in high school and college, so your support truly has a broad impact.
