This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school each day, ready to learn, and to explore the world around them. They are inquisitive, full of energy, and aren't afraid to take risks. Each has their own unique learning style and they thrive with opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and collaboration. I am eagerly awaiting the return to in person instruction next school year so that we could resume to challenging, engaging, and creative learning. When that time comes, I want to make sure I am prepared for their return. As their teacher it is my responsibility to continue to nurture and develop my student's learning styles by creating learning opportunities that will prepare for today's digital world.

My Project

Having an additional DASH Robot in my classroom will provide my students the opportunity to increase their coding skills skills and prepare them for the digital world we live in! Every Friday in my classroom is called STEAM Friday! I create multiple learning rotations where the students engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math Activities. Unfortunately because I only have one robot that rotation is always impacted. Not all my students are able to get a turn using the robot. They are unable to put into practice everything they learned from Google's CS-First program. Having this extra robot would help bring to life the coding skills they practice on the computer in a fun way. Not only would having the extra robot improve their skills in technology, but coding will also help my students improve communication, creativity, math, writing, and as a result their confidence.
