Dance Interactive Notebooks

Help me give my students dedicated dance notebooks for interactive journaling. Our students need pencils to write with, bins to store their notebooks, and a quality pencil sharpener.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our dance classroom has greatly benefited from consistently using interactive notebooks. Topics covered in our interactive notebooks include written bell ringers, dance vocabulary, responding to dance, and dance anatomy.Please help provide notebooks for every dance student along with pencils, bins, and a new sharpener.

Having a dedicated dance notebook will give students an invaluable resource where they can access their dance learning over and over again.

This project also addresses the classroom environment to make sure there is a dedicated place for the notebooks to be, enough pencils for all students, and access to a pencil sharpener. Our classroom having this dedicated analogue system to interact with dance has been very beneficial inside and outside the classroom.

My dance students come from a wide range of experience, from students who have previous dance experience to first-time dancers. We believe dance is for everyone! Over 70% of our students come from low-income households, yet our middle school students achieve above and beyond expectations. The International Baccalaureate program is present in our dance classroom and the dance notebook aligns with IB principles for art classes using a dedicated art notebook.
