Dance, Dance, Dance 2016

My students need these items in order to create costumes for our annual dance show. The shirts, skirts and accessories help us to create costumes for each routine. This project will provide students with Tiered Skirts, Ties, Visors, and T-shirts.

My Students

I hope to share my love of dance with my students. I have the pleasure of introducing a variety of dance styles to them. Some of my students are recreational dancers, but for most this is their first introduction to dance. We learn History, Vocabulary, Choreograph, learn routines, and watch videos.

I teach Kindergarten- 5th grade at a wonderful elementary school in Brooklyn.

We try to instill a love for the Arts across the various grades. We love putting on shows. Each spring the 2nd grade puts on a Song and Dance show. Our theme this year is "Dance, Dance, Dance". All items requested are used for this show.

My Project

Each May the 2nd grade puts on a dance show. All resources we acquire are stored and we try to reuse some each year in different ways. The items requested will help us create costumes for each dance. There are over 150 students that perform between 12-15 routines. By providing them with the costumes and accessories, they learn responsibility by taking care of their items and gratitude for people who helped us get what we need. These items help make out show complete and the donations help keep our show costs down.

There are approximately 175 students who take part in the show.

Being able to provide each one with a costume for their performance is a big part in having a complete show. They are able to portray the characters in the dance when they put on those costumes and get to see that putting on a successful show involves many different people and many different aspects.
