My project needs 90 Daily Language journals for every third grader to have their own journal.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. F.'s classroom raised $374
This project is fully funded
I am a third grade teacher in an Equity school in Winston-Salem, NC. Currently, 81% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. In the upcoming year, our 3rd grade team will serve English as a Second Language students, Special Education students, and many children who are working to improve their communication skills.
Our grade level is requesting daily language journals to allow our students to have daily practice with the appropriate use of grammar, spelling & writing skills.
The journals can be used at home and at school to help the children improve their use of the English language. Because many of our students come from low-income homes, they often have underdeveloped vocabularies. These journals have daily activities that will help to build their vocabularies & help to improve their grammar and spelling. These skills will help provide the building blocks for the reading and writing skills they will need as they grow older and eventually join the working community.
We are requesting enough journals to allow the 4 third grade classes at Ibraham to each have a class set. This will allow us to plan together and implement consistent instruction across our grade level. We believe this will truly benefit each and every child, and if you choose to help us fund this project, you will be able to help 85 children grow into more literate people!
Thank you for your time and consideration of my proposal.
