Many of the new resources have been integrated into classrooms to help students recognize and manage their emotions and make positive choices throughout the school day. Students can use these materials during calm corners, small group activities, and transitions between lessons, giving them concrete tools to pause, reflect, and reset when they feel overwhelmed or overstimulated.\r\n\r\nStudents are excited to have access to these resources and are curious to explore them! We've also used some materials as incentives to encourage positive, self-regulated behaviors. The materials have sparked interest and engagement as students practice new strategies for staying focused, managing emotions, and supporting one another in the classroom.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue incorporating these resources into daily routines and upcoming classroom activities. With ongoing use, we anticipate growth in students' emotional awareness, self-control, and ability to engage fully in learning. The children's eyes lit up the moment they saw it—several rushed over to \"cook breakfast,\" while others began setting the table and inviting friends to join. Right away, the furniture became the centerpiece of their play, giving them a real-world space to practice sharing, teamwork, and imagination.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students turn the kitchen area into a restaurant. They created menus, took turns being chefs and servers, and even counted out pretend money. This wasn't just play—it was literacy, math, and social skills all woven together.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have a space where they can bring their ideas to life every single day. The next step for us is using this furniture to support our upcoming \"community helpers\" unit. The children are already planning to transform the area into a doctor's office, a grocery store, and even a fire station. Their creativity has no limits, and your gift made this possible.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the chance to learn through play in such a meaningful way!","fullyFundedDate":1746786383114,"projectUrl":"project/lets-embrace-our-imagination-with-a-new/9241053/","projectTitle":"Let's Embrace Our Imagination With a New Dramatic Play Kitchen","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gorman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9069172_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y16&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744066961176","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-aliciagorman"},{"teacherId":8520588,"projectId":9306462,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students now have self-regulation kits in every classroom at Ibraham Elementary School, from Kindergarten through 5th grade, including general ed. classrooms, specialist rooms like Music and Media, as well as ESL and EC resource rooms. Students are generally excited about the items in the kits and are learning to use them to regulate their emotions, rest when needed, and return to learning with renewed focus. These tools help them build critical self-regulation skills, skills that many adults take for granted, but which children actively develop through practice and guidance.\r\n\r\nYour support is deeply appreciated, and especially meaningful at this time, during recent budget cuts and changes in education. Children are the future and one of our greatest investments, and your donation is helping nurture their growth, resilience, and ability to succeed both academically and socially.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students can manage frustration, refocus, and continue learning with confidence.
