I am a third grade teacher in an Equity + school in Winston-Salem, NC. Currently, 74% of our students receiving free and reduced lunch. In my own classroom, 100% of the students are on free lunch, five are English as a Second Language students and six are receiving Special Education services. Third grade is a transition year in many ways, and many parents at my school are uncertain about the best way to help their children at home. Parents frequently call me to request materials to work with their children at home. Unfortunately, I do not have adequate resources to fulfill this request.
