My Students

This is my third year teaching special education. I am beginning to build hands-on activities and classroom resources to use with my students.

I work with students with special needs and I typically work with 4-6 students at a given time.

I help provide extra support for students in ELA and math. I use hands-on manipulatives and multi-sensory approaches to teaching and learning. What I love most about my students are the different strengths they all bring to our classroom!

Students enter the room excited to get started on the day's material. They love and enjoy learning new centers that will be started in our classroom and taking the time to master those centers. I love that each student's strength helps create a new strength within another student. They work together to help one another become successful. I am so thankful to work with such a wonderful group of students!

My Project

These materials will help make a difference by offering students hands-on word workstations and experiences. For example, students can manipulate objects to practice making sentences, sight words as well as practice various spelling patterns. The missing letter stampers are a fun and exciting way for students to practice using the correct digraphs and blends. The build a CVC word activity will help students tap out each sound and practice blending those sounds together. The sight word flashcards will provide students with an independent way to practice sight word recognition.
