Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are highly motivated little individuals that enjoy new challenges and learning experiences. They are very inquisitive, full of energy, and desire to learn and communicate their view of things and situations.
Having to change their learning routine has been hard for my students.
Not being able to socialize with other students, not having access to regular school resources and materials, and unexpectedly having to stop the interactions and school routine has impacted their lives and learning momentum.
My school is a Title 1 school, all my students participate in a free lunch program, and among other things they come from single parent homes with limited resources or homes which both parents work and they have to either stay in the after school care program or go to a babysitter.
My Project
These materials will help my students improve their fine motor skills as well as develop their creativity and imagination.
They will be able to practice using scissors and other supplies to refine much needed cutting and pasting skills in a fun way.
Nowadays, the school curriculum is too demanding and students do not get an opportunity to practice and develop basic skills like coloring and cutting. The development of fine motor skills in the classroom is very limited.
Providing my students with supplies and distance learning art lessons and activities will allow them to develop those much needed skills.
