A listening center is always a good resource to have in the classroom specially if your students are experiencing some reading difficulties and/or are English Language Learners. My students are language learners that are learning to read and speak in English. Having access to a listening center will give them the opportunity not only to listen to the stories and as they follow the text improve their reading and writing skills, but also it will give them an opportunity to listen and practice their pronunciation and oral skills. In addition, a listening center can be attached to a computer where the students in small groups could listen and watch an educational piece about math, science, social studies, health, etc. The options are unlimited and with your help my students could have access to all of these opportunities through a classroom listening center.
