Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school needs a Silhouette Cameo, a versatile cutting machine that will foster student engagement and support learning through visual representation. The Silhouette Cameo allows users to precisely cut a wide range of materials, including paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and more, based on digital designs created using software provided by Silhouette. With a Silhouette Cameo, our students can unleash their learning in creative ways.

Students will use the Silhouette for designing and creating educational posters that showcase their learning across various subjects.

Most of our students are English Language Learners who are in various stages of language acquisition. A Silhouette supports these students, while introducing them to digital design processes. Teachers can incorporate the Silhouette Cameo into project-based learning activities encouraging student collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity. For example, the Silhouette Cameo will play a vital role in our National History Day projects, enabling students to produce intricate and professional-looking displays that bring history to life. Language arts teachers can have students create posters of books they read. Our school hosts events such as spirit bowls, school parties, and fundraising events. A Silhouette enables students to produce custom decorations and signage, adding a personalized touch and fostering a sense of community spirit.

Teachers will also utilize the Silhouette when creating vocabulary word walls, motivational quotes, and other classroom signage. The Silhouette will be put to good use in the library for creating book displays, author walls, and motivational reading posters.

By funding a Silhouette Cameo for our school, donors will support our students in their learning journeys. Your support will enable students to express themselves artistically, deepen their understanding of academic concepts, and take ownership of their learning in meaningful ways. Teacher use also supports students in every classroom.
