This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a sweet group of pre-k students in a blended class. Half of my students are typically developing, and the other half of my students have special needs. Together they make a great bunch of kids that love each other.
Many of my students have Autism, Down Syndrome or Speech/Language delays.
My VPK students love helping them by holding their hand in line and helping them get their breakfast. They get so excited for their friends and celebrate them when they learn new skills.
Many of my students are learning to recognize their name in print or their friends faces. Most of my students have unique names that can't be found on typical items that are customized. They don't the extra funds to purchase pictures or have many pictures due to their families using the funds they have to cover daily living expenses.
The project materials I requested will be used to customize pencil cases, ornaments, photos, stickers and remember special events for my class. The shirts will be used to create a class t-shirt for field trips or pep rally days.
