Curious George Books Needed for Curious Kindergartners

My Students

Every day, I have the joy of creating memories of success, failure, and perseverance while teaching kindergartners the joys of learning.

My kindergartners want to be the best that they can.

They are full of questions, from the iconic "Why is the sky blue?" to the question I was asked the other day, "Why do apples come in different colors?" I want my students to further their curiosity by learning to read, write, do math and be knowledgeable about the world. What better beloved book character than Curious George? My classroom strives to engage students so they are life-long learners.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my classroom by providing 16 new Curious George books for our classroom library.

The topics of the requested Curious George books will engage my young learners because the themes are related to either our curriculum or their hobbies outside of school.

Students who are curious about science can learn about the beach and dinosaurs. Math topics are covered as my students can count to 100 with George. Our community helper curriculum will be enhanced with George helping a plumber. Students can learn more about gymnastics, tree houses, taking a trip, riding a roller coaster because they can relate to George with events from their personal lives.

I am most excited about the Curious George ABC book and CD (a huge skill needed to be mastered in kindergarten) and the Curious George Dictionary to provide more resources for our writing center. The phonics book set of 12 books will challenge my high academic kindergartners.
