This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title One school in the state of Georgia. My class size is currently at 17 student. Our classroom is made up of two students who are ELL (English Language Learners); five students who receive special needs services; four students who receive speech services; and as a class, their readiness levels range from three years of age to age seven. Many of my students have little or no access to technology or age appropriate reading material at home.
Helping to shape the minds of our youth and build a love for reading, is my ultimate goal.
With guidance in this ever changing world, I want to imbed in my students that all things are possible. If they can dream it, they can achieve it.
My Project
To support the curiosity of my young readers, I am requesting leveled readers and the interactive phonics activities for my classroom. Unfortunately, our classroom library is limited and I want to remove the limits. These materials will be used during independent centers and small group instructions.
Building their confidence and a love for reading is my ultimate goal.
I want my students to know, that reading is an attainable goal. With support and accessible materials, learning to read is the key to their success. My students will benefit from having these leveled readers and interactive phonics activities as a readily available resource. Thank you for your support!
