Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What I love about my students is their excitement! They love to learn!

Our school is a Title I school with 100 % of our students receiving free or reduced price lunch.

They however do NOT let their circumstances dictate their academic abilities. Students come to my room always with a "Good Morning!" and "What are we learning today?" excited to get the day going. They make me want to be a better teacher and they teach me more than they will ever know.

My Project

We need materials that will provide our students with hands on opportunities in math, social studies and reading. The building numbers houses will help them find all the ways to make 10 to help with addition and subtraction. The pattern cards will be used in a geometry station to build shapes. The cultural books and kit will provide students with an opportunity to become cultural ambassadors and explore other countries through books and hands on manipulatives. The 6-scene cards will provide them with story telling practice.The word family readers will help students practice and recognize word families. This will also help students improve their reading skills.
