My Project

This project is to try to promote cultural diversity in the classroom. These books include different cultural backgrounds that would promote a diverse selection in the library. These books have won different awards for being inclusive, and representing different cultures well.

It is important for students to see themselves in books that they are reading.

While reading, children should experience books that reflect their own lives, books that give them a door to enter into a new world, and window looking into a different culture other than their own. It gives students the opportunity to learn about cultures that are different from their own that otherwise, they may not have the opportunity to learn about.

Help us to reach out goal in getting these books in our classroom. We want the next generation to be educated on different cultures in our world rather than just knowing about their own. This is crucial for the upbringing of the next generation of students.

Mrs. Murphy will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 7.
