Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are thrilled to introduce an educational initiative that will benefit our elementary school students and promote sustainability and environmental awareness. We are seeking your support to establish a coffee cart in our classroom, tailored specifically for our young learners.
The coffee cart will serve as a multifaceted learning tool that integrates science education, practical life skills, and environmental stewardship in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, students will explore concepts related to plant biology, chemistry, and environmental science, all while learning about the importance of sustainability and Earth Day values.
Our coffee cart will feature locally sourced, organic coffee beans. The catch is that people who wish to enjoy a cup of coffee need to bring their own cup ensuring that our practices align with our commitment to environmental responsibility. Students will actively participate in the process of selecting, brewing, and serving coffee, gaining valuable insights into the science behind coffee cultivation, processing, and brewing techniques.
Moreover, the coffee cart will provide opportunities for students to develop important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and financial literacy as they take on roles such as barista, cashier, and manager. These practical experiences will empower our students to become responsible and capable individuals who are prepared for success in the 21st century.
