All of my students are special in their own way. They all have varying disabilities, from autism to physical disabilities to developmental delays. However, their disabilities do not define them as a person. They are all curious, creative, happy, loving, caring and playful 3-5 year olds. They are receiving early learning opportunities and enjoying every minute of it. Playing and learning are high priorities in our room, so it is a good thing that the two of them go hand in hand.
My Project
The materials requested will help my students cultivate more than veggies and flowers. They will help my preschool students cultivate their communication abilities, feeling of achievement, sense of responsibility and the enjoyment of teamwork.
By having a classroom garden, my little students will get to witness first hand the hard and fulfilling work of growing their own plants.
They will be able to witness the growth of a plant from seedling to full grown plant with flowers and vegetables. This unit will allow my students to learn new vocabulary, the plant life cycle and just how good it feels to dig in the soil and get dirty. Most importantly, these materials for this unit will demonstrate how hard work pays off.
