Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from second and third generational poverty. Reading is not always a priority in their homes. The books in our library are over 20 years old. 2/3 of our book collection is from before 2000. I want to cultivate a love for readers new books will def6vet their interest them.
My Project
I am requesting funds to purchase some of our most popular titles that students continually ask for. We only have one copy of the titles and 670 students on our campus. Having multiple copies will allow the kids to read together with classmates. It will let more students have opportunities to read the books everyone is asking for. Please support our kids in their quest to find books they can read and also books they enjoy reading. It will mean so much for them to have a chance to read current books.
