My students need your support! Career Technical Education courses such as Culinary Arts teaches students important life skills to be applied in & out of the classroom. This gives confidence to students for them to succeed.
"I made this and it tasted so good!" These were the words a student exclaimed last year when she made puff pastries for the first time. Witnessing the joy from my students experiences when using their culinary skills are almost as delightful as the food the student produces. Our program serves students in the grades 9-12 and provides excelling academics, a stellar instructor who plays a key part as a mentor and role model to the students, while being in a safe learning environment. Our students comprised of over 300 amazing students yearly, many of whom come from low income households and receive free lunch. Our goal is to give students life skills in order for their success in and out of high school. Making them understand that their creativity and intuitiveness is important for a healthy and beneficial lifestyle.
My Project
Career Technical Education helps support our struggling students. Technology, safety, sanitation and hands-on projects are key tools for the success of our students. We are creating life lessons to help our students become strong worker in the culinary industry. New curriculum materials, a laptop for our catering events and safety equipment will truly help our program. My students need a laptop, gloves, an ice maker, strainers, and cooking textbooks because it will help them build and support their Catering Projects throughout the school year.
Technology in the classroom, cooking, safety and sanitation is our focus with this project.
These materials will help support our program while learning the technical skills needed for there future. We need your help with supporting our culinary kitchen and classroom to learn valuable culinary skills.
